I purchased this TV along with the matching Hw-q70r soundbar to use Dolby Atmos. This TV only has Hdmi ARC and not eARC which is needed to transmit Dolby Atmos to the soundbar. The soundbar has been updated to eARC but the TV has not. Samsung needs to release a firmware update for Hdmi 2.1/eARC.

I researched the purchase heavily and have been extremely satisfied with the product. Awesome picture quality, fast refresh rate, TV sound is above average (although I also purchased the Q70 sound bar & woofer). A lot of value for the price. My only complaint-quirk is there are sometimes after I turn the TV off, it will inexplicably come back on a few minutes later. A little unsettling, but it has happened about 10 times in the 7 months I've owned the set. The wireless internet reception can have some lag at times. i love the remote control. Sleek, simple and fairly easy to navigate once you get the hang of it. I love the features to conceal the power cord and cables in the legs of the base as mine sits on a cabinet. My wife often mentions how many times I've told her "I love our new TV"!

Overall a good set ONCE you put in the time to tweak the picture. This will take some time to accomplish. I understand Samsungs' approach to Dolby Vision and don't like that decision. Be competitive, add it. Add DTS pass through to your ATMOS pass through. And give us more than the DD+ offering. Add the art gallery features from the FRAME series. Thank you for the audio eq, Its needed for just TV audio. Other than those things the set is good.(2019 version only, the new ones have a flawed feature set). I like it, it just needed work to get it right.

So, we've had this TV for about 6 months now and I feel confident that i can provide an accurate review. The picture on this thing is amazing! We upgraded from a 55" LG LCD that was about 8 years old and this blows the old one away. I also love the built in apps. We have Spectrum cable/internet, so we love that we can use the Spectrum app without the need for a cable box on this TV. Other apps like Disney+, HBO, Amazon, Netflix, and Google Play are also a huge plus. The only weird thing with the TV occurs when we turn it off. Every now and then, it will miraculously turn back on. I am not sure what is causing this, but so far we are just dealing with it. Overall, I would highly recommend this (or any other QLED) TV from Samsung.

I bought the 65" Q70R QLED Smart 4K UHD TV (2019) earlier this month. whether I turn on or off the game mode feature of this TV, upon connection to the gaming console (Nintendo Switch) it keeps flashing black screen making it impossible to play. It also does not detect the gaming console upon connection via HDMI (and the manual input doesn't have an option for Nintendo Switch). reading online, this is a common issue without any solution provided. Do I need to return and see if the replacement would work? Because, the solution of switching HDMI cable which I attempted didn't fix anything.

I purchased this on Black Friday and it arrived about a week later. Brand new and it would not turn on. I had to open a service/repair request which will take about another entire week to send someone over to look at it. If they decide to replace it, that will probably also take another week, plus I'll have to go through the hassle of repackaging and sending this one back. All-in-all a big pain and a hassle, I wish I had paid a little bit more and gone with a competitor's product. No wonder they are selling these at such a huge discount.

This Samsung Q70RAF ROCKS!

We've owned Samsung TVs for years and have never been let down. We just replaced our nearly 5 year old 55" 4K (not HDR) 6 series, which served us well. But times, my how they have changed. First we wanted Apple TV and we didn't want to buy a $200 Apple TV adapter from Apple. 2018 and 2019 Samsung TVs come with Apple TV and AirPlay II built in. Add in Quantum Dot technology with HDR and the screen resolution on the newest TV's is simply so much better than anything we've ever had. We didn't want OLED. It's true that OLED probably has the best blacks you can get, but OLED isn't refined enough yet IMHO. OLED won't get as bright as a high-quality LCD. OLED also can suffer from burn-in if a static image is left on the screen too long. Sorry, but I'm not spending this much money to get a static image burned into the screen. Samsung Quantum Dot technology rivals OLED and in many ways surpasses it. It's LCD technology on Steroids and it's amazingly great. Enter the Samsung QN65QQ70RAF. We wanted to move up to 65" and we thought we were going to buy the 65" Q60RAF, but after seeing the difference between the 60R and 70R with Direct Array Backlighting (48 areas), the difference was significant enough to justify the 70R. We also looked seriously at the 65" Q80RAF, but other than slightly better off axis viewing (not important to our viewing needs), we could not justify the added cost for what to us seemed a limited value over the 70R. At some point the value of diminishing returns kicks in and the Q70RAF was all the TV and more for our needs. The TV is really well built. The bezels are super slim and are framed in real brushed black aluminum. The Q60RAF bezels are plastic, so the Q70RAF is a step up in construction. The screen employs a layer to minimize reflections from lights. The Q80RAF has an even better layer than the Q70RAF, but honestly, in most living rooms, the differences would be minimal. In years past Samsung included a One Box with their Q Series TV's. The One Box let you connect one cable to back of the TV and plug in your electronics, such as receiver, DVD, Cable box, etc., to the box. The Q70RAF does not include the One Box, instead you plug devices into the back of the TV. You get 4 HMDI's, cable and optical connections, which is likely more than most anyone could need anyway. Full disclosure, we did not set the TV up ourselves, though I'm sure we could have. We chose to pay Best Buy Geek Squad to deliver and set it up as well as have them reprogram our Harmony Home Hub to take full advantage of all the features this stunning TV offers. They were terrific and took a great deal of time ensuring everything was set up for the best resolution possible and ease of use. The TV comes boxed really well. I'd seen enough unboxing reviews to know Samsung took great care to ensure the TV comes out of the box in perfect condition. The metal feet (the 60 RAF has plastic feet), just slide and click firmly into place and look terrific with a slide off groove on the back foot for cable management. You can only really get one cable in each foot, but our TV is in a huge entertainment center and the feet weren't needed to hide cables anyway. While Geek Squad did the setup, I watched carefully and it is really well thought out. There are multiple video viewing modes, and we chose Standard Mode as the best for the lighting conditions in our room. This TV get's BRIGHT. REALLY BRIGHT. Signing into Apple TV, Amazon Prime, YouTube, etc, was so simple. We did listen to the built-in speakers for a moment, which with 40 watts and 2.1 sound is OK. But it's really recommended to use a sound bar or better speakers to enjoy true surround sound. Ours is running through a 7.1 Channel Surround receiver system with multiple dedicated speakers. The Q70RAF offers as I mentioned above, full array multi-zone dimming. This in combination with HDR provides amazing blacks, which can't be accomplished with edge lit screens (the Q60RAF is not multi-zone dimming). An LCD TV which is edge lit lights along the edges of the screen (usually the side edges), whereas multi-zone backlit TV's such as the Q70RAF have an array of LEDs directly behind the screen with 48 zones, which permits much better definition of dark and light. The difference is positively stunning! All the TV's in Samsung's Quantum Dot line are powered by an advanced Quantum Processor 4K Chip, which instantly upscales content to as close to 4K as possible without any unwanted effects. We've watched several movies weren't filmed in 4K, but the resolution was fantastic. Throw something in 4K to this puppy and it's beyond awe-inducing. You can see detail like you've never seen before and we're coming from a TV which was 4K. This Samsung TV offers the following HDR formats: HDR 10, HLG and HDR10+. Samsung does not offer Dolby Vision, but I'm not sure I would be able to tell the difference. How about color on this TV? Simply amazing is all I can say. The Q70RAF has what Samsung says is Quantum HDR 8X. It fine-tunes color and black to bring out the most realistic and vivid picture details and it does its job fantastically. With Intelligent Mode, the sound (if you use the built-in speakers) and picture adjust to match the conditions of the room. Integration with devices such as Alexa or Google Home is simple. We use Alexa and now I can just say Hey Alexa, turn the TV on or off. The remote provided by Samsung is simple enough and includes dedicated buttons for Netflix, Amazon or Hulu. It also has the Bixby voice assistant, but he doesn't seem to understand me all that well. We use a Harmony Home Hub anyway, it does everything I could need from a single unified remote. The interface for changing apps on Samsung TV's is powered by their Tizen Smart TV Operating System. From my perch, it's the very best there is. It's simple to use and very intuitive. If you want to download apps, you need a Samsung Account, which you can easily create using the Smart Things App when you set up the TV. One interesting, but I'm not sure how important it is feature, is Ambient Mode. You can use the TV screen when the TV is off to display a photo, or news, weather, time, artistic images or you can even take a photo of the surrounding area, which can be on the screen when it's off. If you mount your TV on a wall, I can see the value in this. If your TV is in a large entertainment center like ours is, Ambient Mode may not be all that important to you. Still, it's great it's there and you have the option. I don't think any other TV manufacturer offers such a feature. While we're not gamers, I would be remiss if I didn't mention that the Q70RAF is rated as one of the absolute best Tv's for gaming. It's the first TV with FreeSync, which reduces lag time and tearing to give you amazing gaming speed and greater visibility in the dark. Well there you have it. To say we're simply blown away by how far TV's have come in the last 4+ years is an understatement. We took advantage of Black Friday pricing, which makes this 65" Samsung Q70RAF an even more impressive purchase. There is literally not one thing I would change about this TV and that's mighty high praise. If you're looking to upgrade your home TV, I suggest you get in your car and go over to your Best Buy or other favorite retail store right now and get this amazing Samsung TV. You'll really be happy you did. So will your family and friends! Ps: In the photos I've attached are of a 4K broadcast directly viewing the TV and off axis. Here's the only area where the Q80RAF surpasses the Q70RAF. It's still much better than the TV we replaced, but off axis can degrade some the more off axis you are. Still, the off axis viewing on this TV is really solidly good.

Bought this tv had a 6 year old Samsung 4K tv still going gave it to a neighbor and upgraded it still works but was curious about the difference now and am blown away by the picture and the smart tv differences in the new QLED TVs it's so lifelike that I'm there setup so easy won't recognize my comcast cable box only problem I had was the legs wouldn't lock in

Bought it about a month ago, along with a Q80R Soundbar. The TV is exceptional, nothing too special. If you're gonna go big save your money and go Q90 or get this one in the biggest that you can to save money. Within 2 weeks I noticed significant lag when navigating the Smart Hub, makes it seems cheap and that not even a 1400 dollar tv can have a smooth interaction with its advertised "quad core" cpu. It performs well. (5 minutes after you clean your cpu and ram with the tv management app) it's like going back to a galaxy with having to clear and kill all apps to maintain the performance it's already supposed to give you. Other than that it's a nice tv. But this is one of the reasons I have to get the best, and Samsung showed me that I was stupid in expecting more from a 7 series. Next up, Q90 75"

Universal remote will not pair

New, delivered today QN65Q70RAF, remote will not pair with TV. The red light flashes continuously, without ever bringing up the BT icon on the TV. I have tried every trouble shooting (TS) tip in the support section. I have also tried of the solutions mentioned in the very long Samsung Community thread for this issue. Interesting note: my iphone and laptop were able to find, and attempt paring. But alas there does not appear to be a iphone, linux or windows app that can pair and take the place of the remote. I did call support. The customer support representative (CSR) was professional and quick to diagnose that indeed the remote was not paring with the TV. The CSR was kind enough to facilitate the shipping of a new remote - I was told to expect it within 5 days. So I now have a massive paperweight in my living room. From the number of comments on this issue at the Samsung Community thread for this issue, this looks like a field failure that Samsung has either not come to terms with or is ignoring. This reflects poorly on Samsung's quality control.

Great TV! Absolutely love it. If you're on the fence between this and the Q60, go with this. I tried the Q60, but the stutter was unreal and awful. Just get this one. I got the 55" to ensure I was able to take advantage of all of the features of the TV. I also ordered it directly from Samsung as it was a lot cheaper. I will say though, the frame arrived scratched. Since the TV itself was fine and exchanging seemed like a lot of work, I kept it.

Overall, this is a great tv. It's the perfect size for a range of room layouts and the feature list is extensive enough to make it perfect for just casually watching television to playing graphic intensive video games where clarity without latency is key. I've owned mine for months now and still have moments when I'm watching an ultra hd movie with vibrant hdr, or pick up a game I haven't played since before I bought the tv, where I think to myself, "wow...this is a good tv." Unfortunately, like so much new technology these days, the user interface layout is way too aggressively advertisement centric. The absolute worst is the forced apps. For example, I am an individual who has a moral abhoration for Amazon, yet not only can I not remove the Prime TV app from the television, there is a specific button for it on the remote. Personally, I find this extremely insensitive of Samsung because for the price of this television, I shouldn't have to be forced to support a third party company I have strong negative feelings towards. That aside, it's a great TV, especially if you want a crisp picture without fear of burn in.

I bouth two months ago. Has a good reception quality with my antenna. Has Youtube and other apps. And you can install some other apps from the store. Delivery system from Samsung was good and on time. I read some bad feebacks online, but my experience everything was good.

The picture on this TV is breathe taking but after a month of use there some major quality control issues! First,. Two dark bands appear on the screen running horizontally at random times. The only way to fix it is to factory reset the TV. You loose all your setting and have to go through the set to process all over again. This has happened three times in a month. Samson tech support's solution... Reset the TV again! Next, the TV turns on by itself regular. I turn it off and go to bed and get woken up by the tv playing in the living. Unless we have a ghost in the house there is some programming glitch. Finally, the remote is cool but also sensitive! I don't know how many times the sightless touch has changed the channel, opened an app, muted the sound, or turned the TV off. Last, the voice command is useless. Bixby should be called AUI... Artificial unintelligent Skip this TV. It's not worth the headache.
