Refrigerator GREAT craft ice maker terrible.

The refrigerator and in door ice maker works perfect. The knock knock door does help. The split door is also perfect. However the craft ice maker is problematic. When we bought it the sales staff said it would only make three to six balls a day. My wife was fine with that as she loved the idea of having craft ice cubes.. However this ice maker has been replace four times.

Overall very good refrigerator with one caveat

Excellant refrigerator with two ice makers - an in-door unit with choices of water cubes or crushed ice and a craft ice maker that generates 3 spherical ice cubes per day dropping them into a bin in the freezer. My one problem has been with the craft ice maker - at one point the mechanism froze and the ice maker had to be replaced. Recently it turned itself off when it detected that the bin was full but after emptying the bin it failed to switch on again. Customer Support told me there had been problems with it and recommended I download the LG app and then download the new version of the ice maker software. The new software did the trick and the craft ice maker is again working. Since the refrigerator is Internet-connected via my in-home WiFi I would have expected the refrigerator to automatically download any available software updates since there is no way the customer would know an update is available.

We just got it but I really like it so far. The craft ice hasnt made a lot yet. Im excited to try it out. The stainless steel finish is pretty resistant to fingerprints which is a nice feature. The interior is dark grey-something I had not seen before. Its also a cool feature. Its a little pricey but l think worth it.

Pretty but needs constant repairs

We bought the refrigerator in November of 2020. Since that time weve had to have the craft ice cube maker repaired and/or replaced at least 8 times. Recently the refrigerator quit cooling 2.5 year old refrigerator the craft ice cube maker went out and the indoor water/ice dispenser quit working. The refrigerator is pretty and I loved the craft ice cube and right-side door options but it was a poor quality product that we are having to replace at only 2.5 years old.

So many great features

Truly an innovative design regarding dust collection points underneath basically none temperature control and ice making. Separate door-in-door which can be lighted without opening is a super idea. Love the craft ice Unfortunately despite double filtration upstream from the unit our well water has enough impurities to cause the craft ice maker to get scratched enough after 12 months twice so far to not release the ice.

I love EVERYTHING but the craft ice maker

This fridge rocks. Its not as big as I had hoped but I had to have counter-depth so theres that. The regular ice maker gets stuck all the time but its not as big of an issue as the craft ice maker. IT ONLY WORKS 1/10 of the time. I have to reset it at least once a week. The craft ice maker gets stuck in the drop position and will not go back up to fill with water. What a pain. I wish I researched it more - there are a ton of articles out there about how it does not work.

This refrigerator looks great in the showroom - and based on experience with other LG products were expecting a pretty neat refrigerator - but there is something really amiss with LGs build quality. We wouldnt take the showroom unit as one door was dented and the bottom freezer wouldnt roll out properly so the store arranged to deliver a new unit from the warehouse - unfortunately that one was so dented that the doors couldnt even be opened. Were now waiting for yet another unit refrigerator #3 - if it is also dented then well have to look at a different vendor. Quite disappointing so far.

Surprising amount of space if organized in quadrants/areas of like foods. The lighted door trays hold a surprising number of items Craft ice is a fun plus after part upgrade. Definitely fingerprint-proof and wipes down easily. Splitting the deli drawer like the meat/produce drawers would be great so you can open one outer door at a time instead of both in order to be able to pull out the wide deli drawer. Three levels in the freezer is just ok because you really cant see whats in the top drawer and the second level is very shallow for only a single layer of very flat packs of food. I guess thats good so you see everything easily. Making a freezer-drawer handle that you dont have to lift to unlatch would be nice. Oh We just discovered a cool little hidden tray under the big trays on the left door. Overall great fridge

Great fit

We love the craft ice I call them ice balls It was making them but at some point stopped dropping them into the bin LG replaced the craft ice maker and it works perfectly The inside ice maker however jambs up as ice collects in a clump at the top right and stops dispensing. I was told to thump on the bin to loosen the cubes. Not a good solution.

Water filter issue

LG Studio Thin Q 2/7/2023

Purchased the LG Thin Q Studio counterdepth refrigerator and it was delivered and installed in December 2922. We experienced issues with water taste. After several calls to both LG and Bestbuy and changed the filters twice we finally had to have a service technician come out. The water was not going through the filter as designed. Once the obstruction was fixed it appears that water is now being filtered.

I bought this and found damage and between LG and Direct Buy no one wants to take care of. I loved my old LG which was better made. This one was very expensive with a cheap interior. I hate that its smaller. Not much room for condiments. I do love the different ices available.

The ice dispenser drip tray and lever scratched within days of first use. Unable to find replacement parts to possibly ceramic parts. The craft ice maker malfunctioned but covered under warranty.

Quality Process Failures

Lack of QMS 12/16/2022

I brought this refrigerator a year and half ago and I am very dissatisfied and disappointed the compressor stop functioning and my food spoiled and had condensation all over the kitchen flooring. This became a horendous problem which could have been avoided by communicating the recall notice which I attained through Alexa app. and although after months of complaint is was refunded one hundred enough to cover my 7 sirloin steaks and not the milk and the meats and dairy products and was told I would be notified about another refund which to date I am awaiting resolution. This is a classic example of lack of Quality Management Systems in place.I would like an answer as soon as possible.

Love the fridge if it would stay fixed

Good refrigerator 11/6/2022

We bought this refrigerator 18 months ago and have not had any issues. Overall Were very happy with our purchase. The quality of the refrigerator is great however the design and layout of the inside could have been done better. The doors do not hold a lot of condiments which makes it hard to keep things organized. While this is a counter depth refrigerator I know that are more shallow but our last one had shelves wide enough to hold normal condiments. Other than that issue we are satisfied with our purchase.

Great Refrigerator

This refrigerator was a little bit of an adjustment in comparison to our old refrigerator. It did me a little bit to get accustomed to the new layout however it is awesome now that I have adjusted. We did have to make some changes to our cabinets and wall for the built-ins around the refrigerator as the doors take up more space when they open. Now reading this it does sound surprising that I would rate the refrigerator with five stars but I love the new layout now that I have gotten used to it. I think it is much easier to find things and keep organized.

When my fridge died unexpectedly the only way I could get it removed was to buy a new one. This was the only fridge available that I could get delivered and installed the next day I would have never paid this much ordinarily but went ahead with the purchase and was I ever surprised and delighted. WORTH. EVERY. PENNY. It is everything I never knew I wanted. And discovered the craft ice function a few days later- just perfect. Love this refridgerator more than I should for an appliance.
