This dryer doesnt have AI - just bad programming

I really dislike this dryer. I wish we had our Samsung back The cycles are preset with the temperature and timing. If you want to change options some cycles will not allow change in some options like heat level. The specs say you can download your own specified parameters for cycles but its only ONE custom cycle at a time. The instruction manual doesnt tell you what parameters are automatically assigned to each cycle or which parameters you can change. You have to figure that out by yourself. Talk about AI run amok - this dryer doesnt have any intelligence. Some programmer just decided how I should dry clothes and then makes it time consuming to do that the way I want to do it.

A dryer that does not dry Model WM4000HBA

We purchased the LG washer Dryer 2 weeks ago at Best Buy. The dryer keeps stopping with a D95 error code. We have had our vents professionally cleaned and Best But did the install. The washer is great. The dryer terrible and the Best Buy and LG has no service. We have bought all LG appliances to date and this will be the last.

Poor Customer Service

I know the instructions are not to write a review about customer service but feel compelled to express views so that other customers are aware. I ordered the LG washer WM4000HWA and dryer DLEX4000W on 9/1 with an expected delivery on 9/5. Instead I was given three different and conflicting shipping updates from LGs call centers Philippines India and was repeatedly misled about when the products left the warehouse. The delivery agent never received the units when LG said they had. Attempts to speak with a supervisor were met with pushback long holds and further confusion. Before even receiving the products the experience has been frustrating and has eroded my trust in LG. Customer service was inconsistent unhelpful and more focused on offering incentives than providing clear answers. LG needs to do much better in communication and accountability.

Overpriced unreliable JUNK

We have never regretted a purchase of a major appliance more than this one What a piece of junk Customer service from both Lowes AND LG were completely useless and did NOT solve anything. The sensor function on the dryer DOES NOT WORK especially for any heat level that is below medium-high. So laundry loads of Delicates? Completely damp requiring running the cycle 2-3 times to get it totally dry. Permanent Press loads on medium heat? Also a failure. Has to be run 2 times for total dryness. So brace yourself for disappointment frustration and a MUCH HIGHER ELECTRIC BILL And the so-called customer service from LG is abysmal unhelpful unprofessional. They try to find any way they can to pass the buck on being responsible for their LOUSY product instead of making the situation right with their customer. Here are many of the various methods weve tried per customer service recommendations which have all FAILED to fix the problem: - Run the diagnostics program. - Make sure that Energy Saver is off. - Run the Delicates load with dryer balls. - Alter the amount of clothes per load for Delicates cycle. - Check the sensors to make sure theyre clean which you would expect with a NEW dryer which we did. - Make sure the lint filter is clean which I have always done after every load. - Check the vent hose. Side note: Lowes installation - which we also PAID FOR - was not done correctly. - Just use the timed drying function since the sensor function isnt working correctly. Oh you mean half of the so-called features on this machine that you falsely advertise as part of the functions which we ALSO PAID FOR? Side note: this often takes more than one cycle as well even at the longest time setting. For the record Lowes customer service quite blatantly didnt care with the near-monotone representative informing me WELL AFTER THE FACT that they only have a 48-hour return window on major appliances. Seriously?? Bottom line: Buying anything from the LG brand? NEVER AGAIN Buying any major appliances from Lowes? NEVER AGAIN

Electric Dryer smoking

My elecric dryer was just installed and the upon turning it on it began to smoke. Installation was double check by 2 installer and the installation was good. I called LG and she started creating a case then said that it was an installation issue because it shouldnt smoke. She argued and kept stating it is an installation issue and the installer needs to return. They are not technicians ... The LG rep continues to argue instead of creating a case Her name is Alex and I requested a supervisor because the installation is perfect - all wrapping was removed the vent installed and plug was correct as well as the steam hose. Instead of sending a certified technician to look at this defective dryer she insists it is an installation issue. I am still waiting ort a suervisor .

Worst applicance experience of my life.

Light use for a family of 2. 14 months into life it just died. LG said its $400 to get a repair expert to the house they could do next day which is great but still thats 1/2 of the product price. I live in a metro area so I would suspect they could get a repair person easily. Then there is the cost of replacing whatever is broken which is probably a few hundred dollars. The LG experts werent able to give me any advice over the phone on how to try to figure whats wrong besides plugging it out and back in. These smart devices are not very smart. Im currently on-hold to a supervisor so Ive had more than enough time to write this review.

Next to nothing on this dryer works properly or efficiently. One single 100 cotton sheet in Normal mode 57 minutes comes out damp. Steam Refresh wets the clothing and wrinkles it worse.

Dryer is basically useless. Unless you put everything in the Heavy Duty mode and sometimes twice nothing ever gets dry. The Steam Refresh mode is a joke -- the clothes come out sopping wet and more wrinkled than when put in.

LG Electric Dryer

I bought this dryer 3 weeks ago and the design looks great. However the Steamer which I thought would be a useful feature I couldnt try it out because of missing parts. The dryer was shipped without the parts I needed. I called the place where I purchased the dryer and they contacted LG. LG initially refused to ship the parts because they said they werent included. However the manual that came with the dryer said otherwise and after much discussion and confirming the model and serial numbers LG finally agreed to send all 4 parts but only sent 2. I had to contact the place where I purchased the dryer and they contacted LG again and the whole process was repeated. I hope they did it right this time. Even if I get those parts I dont think its a good idea to use the Steamer unless you have the entire house water treatment system. Especially in Southern California calcium deposits in the water can cause the dryer to malfunction or fail and Im a little hesitant to connect the dryer directly to the tap without water treatment. LG what are your recommendations for my comment? FYI I have an 8 year old LG washer that replaced the solenoid water flow control valve myself and so far it is working with no issues.

Wont Dry LG Wont Help No Custom Settings

The dryer will not dry a load no matter what options are selected. LG requires that I pay an additional professional to come out inspect the vent and certify in writing that the vent is clear and installed correctly which it is it was just professionally installed. The dryer I replaced dried fine with the same vent configuration. Then after I pay and submit the certification they may think about repairing or replacing the defective BRAND NEW dryer. The dryer also lacks any customizable cycle features my old dryer allowed me to create my own cycle such as medium heat extra dry and sturdy fabrics. They offer some downloadable options but they are limited and must be downloaded every time. AND the remote start option is a joke. To run the remote start option you have to set the dryer to remote start AT THE DRYER every time? Who designs these machines?

Has 1 job. Doesnt do it. This dryer looks nice and has satisfying controls but the dryer sensor doesnt work and it cuts off before completely drying a load. So instead of nice clean laundry we have to contend with damp mildewy surprise. It shouldnt be that hard to create a dryer that actually dries clothes.

Customer Service / Pres Liaison disaster

My dryer broke and was under warranty. It took 36 days to get a service tech to fix it. They had a presidential liaison who was in charge of the account. Despite repeated requests she never once engaged me in conversation. She would text me and when I requested a phone call she just stopped communicating. I think I called into the service center over 17 times and all the did was just enter it into the system and said that the liaison would follow up with me she never did. In hindsight I wish I had never started the warranty work - I could have called my local appliance repair company and had it resolved in 72 hours. Overall an awful customer service experience.

Since getting machine the delicate cycle has left clothes very damp and the sensor doesnt seem to work. I have dealt with LG who has said the machine works based on their remote testing and will send out a tech at my cost of machine is working to verify. They claimed install or duct issue. Costco who installed stated it was installed correctly and that it is a machine issue. Duct cleaning company stated everything was fine. Its been 3 months and I still have a machine that doesnt work.

I bought my washer and dryer in late June. Door on washer was damaged and I didnt get replacement until second weekin July. Since that time I have contacted customer service 5 times to ask for specific instruction book on how to and when to use specific features like steam etc. I have never received any help as I cannot get the info from the website as this email is the extent of my computer capability. I am a very senior person and your customer service does not take into consideration that some people need PRINTED instructions not a computer website. I will never purchase an LG product again.

Machine broke at 1-Year Mark- Dont Buy LG

When I had the product slightly more a year it began making noise due to a twisted motor bracket. There is no longer a warranty and the retailer and LG are unwilling to repair. Im shocked at the poor product quality I understand things are not made as well as they have been in the past but a less than 13 month lifespan for a major household appliance seems ridiculous. I had a LG dryer for 13 years before replacing and sought out LG again because I was so impressed by that machines longevity and the quality. I guess LG has cheapened its product sadly.

So far now that we know how to operate the appliances everything look good for the future. We have not started using the wifi yet but hope to use it soon. Given everything we have done I will rate the appliances #4 with #5 to be considered in the not to distance future.

We purchased this washer a couple months ago and are very pleased with the results. Im a massage therapist and especially appreciate the Sanitary Mode for the massage table linens. It makes a pleasant sound when the cycle is complete. The spin cycle gets the clothes much drier than my previous machine allowing for faster drying times.

Dangerous Door

Purchased the washer in the dryer in white with rose gold trim. The rose gold trim on the dryer is so sharp it cut my hand. Service has said that there is no rose gold trim door. Thats odd because I have a washer and dryer. With a rose gold trim door. I hlace to put in a latex glove so I dont cut myself. Im so upset. . I bought the dryer to match the washers. My old dryer worked fine. I wish I never bought this set. . I dont know why they dont replace the washer and the dryer doors with another color trim. . Im am so upset. The rose gold trim is dangerous. .the trim on the washer isnt quite as bad what a disaster

Can barely be considered a dryer

I hate this dryer with every fiber of my being. Moved into my new home a year ago and the previous owners left their lg washer and dryer for good reason I learned. The washer does the job its a washer no complaints. The dryer does not dry in a timely manner. I have a downloaded dryer option set to the highest heat dryness and set for an hour that I have to run twice in order to achieve clothes that arent just warm and damp because it ALWAYS brings the time down due to the sensor dry that is impossible to turn off unless you know someone that can change the program. Honestly would much much much rather have the concern of a dryer overheating than one that refuses to dry even when on a manual setting. Seriously such a terrible experience and when it catches me on the wrong day this dryer brings me to tears. Never make the mistake of getting a smart appliance because theyre all made to make everything 10x more complicated and easier to break than it was with any of your run of the mill old appliance. And yes lg I already set it to very dry checked the vents and I already did the stupid jumping through hoops to maybe fix the issue of a dryer not doing its one job. I think the solutions offered to other low reviews are a pathetic reflection of how unreliable lg smart appliances are.

Installation fail

Dont know how it works because its still sitting in my garage in plastic wrap. The white glove installation didnt have the right parts then took a month of repeated prodding to tell me that actually I should contact LG to get it. Ive tried multiple times to contact LG and have had no response.
