Scan and cook not working

Working with support staff from WIFI, Call Center, Sales Division and onsite tech visit. All four of my units will not preform the "scan and cook". I am told, this is only function, with Apple cell device. Is this correct? Need a factory rep to assist in the USA to verify. Your web site and sales staff show this function as working, when support staff said will not function. Can HQ assist?

Cooks evenly, heats up quickly, easy to use. Love the swing open door! The air fryer function works great. There is no pay wall like mentioned in another review, just an online account, which I do find a bit ridiculous considering we paid for the oven, but it does open up the full functionality of the oven. The cooling fan is much quieter than the 20 year old version we had previously. We had some minor cosmetic blemishes but GE quickly resolved them. We™€™ve had the oven for almost two months so time will tell longevity.

Side door is a game changer!

Because of the configuration of my kitchen I™€™ve struggled with the traditional door on the wall oven. We had a 24 year old GE oven that still worked but I needed the side opening door to better access the oven. I love this oven. The side open door is fantastic and such easy access to the oven especially when managing heavy food items. The air fryer is fantastic and I™€™m learning the difference between conventional and convection cooking. It™€™s so much fun. I bought the air fry basket and what a difference. Love it. It is also beautiful and the esthetic is perfect for our kitchen. I highly recommend this oven.

Finally someone made a wall oven that makes sense. No more reaching over the door and getting burned. Heavier racks with rollers to make getting things in and out easier. I am loving cooking with this. The added bonus of connecting to my phone and Alexa means that I can have the oven on and ready to cook when I step in the door and control the oven from anywhere for timed cooking when I am away and want to start a dish before I get home. Even cooking and all the features that you could want Plus it is an air fryer also. No need for a bunch of separate things taking up space.

Causes a high electric bill

Wish I hadn™€™t gotten this oven. As soon as you start to bake the oven fan starts running and continues to run for a long time after you stop baking. I baked a dish at 350 stopped the oven and the fan ran for over an hour and was still running when I left the house. I spoke to a service technician today that told me it is normal for the fan to run all during the baking and then that depending on the temperature of your oven the fan will continue to run anywhere from 15 min to 2 hr after the oven is off. Making this a very costly oven on my electric bill. The side swing door is a great concept just wish they had taken the expense to run it into the design of the oven.

Dead on Arrival

Sadly our oven was dead on arrival. It was installed on December 5. It never worked from the moment we got it. The oven would not respond. Then after waiting a bit, it turned on heated to 190 F and froze. We were not able to turn off the oven or do anything with it. The only way we could turn the oven off when it froze was to flip the breaker on our electrical panel. We called for tech help the day we got it. The troubleshooting ideas did not work. An engineer came out to look at it. The oven did all of the same things to him that it did to us. It took a while to come in, heated to 190, froze, and would not turn off until we flipped the breaker. The engineer said that we need a new motherboard and another part. So from the moment we received our brand new oven, it did not work. I bought a lemon. I bought a brand new unusable oven. GE does not want to install a brand new oven. They want me to keep the broken oven and have it repaired before we ever got to use it. We are not happy customers.

Good operation, poor wifi smarts.

The product looks great and runs great. Some problems with internet hook up. Diagnostics are inadequate and it needed a strong wifi signal. Switching between cell phone and house wifi was not done well, but finally connected and updated. Smart connection not terribly useful and get phone messages with preheat completion and timer finished, even when standing next to the unit. But as an oven it is great. Also I should be able to change the built in pictures with my own.

Why not fix this problem 9/22/2023

I recently purchased & installed this oven. I am sorely disappointed because the oven hinge extends beyond the specified dimension. On the website it states that the oven is 29.75" wide, but in fact the lower hinge extends 3/16" past that. In my case, the hinge will interfere with the adjoining pantry door. There is nothing in either the GE specifications nor the installation manual that mention this extending hinge. I can only 1) trim my pantry door, which will create an uneven space compared to the rest of the kitchen, or 2) grind down the hinge itself. I am dismayed that a company like GE would let this engineering flaw go unnoticed and unspecified. It points to poor quality, and because of this, I would not recommend purchasing GE products in the future. I won't.

A New Way To Cook

Only used a few times. It will take some getting use to, since we haven't had this type of wall oven before. But that is will any new appliance. So far so good. Love the side opening door. Definitely helps with my muscle issues. The racks slide out so easy. Would recommend.
